רבי שניאור זלמן מליאדי - האדמו"ר הזקן - הוא מייסדה של חסידות חב"ד ומתווה דרכה הרעיונית והערכית. האדמו"ר הזקן הציע בכתביו מערכת מושגים יסודית המהווה תשתית לכל מחשבת חב"ד, ומייצגת כמיהה אינטלקטואלית, ידע מיסטי, תאורגיה ותפיסת עשייה דתית.

ספר זה מבקש לדון בתפיסות החינוכיות והדידקטיות של רבי שניאור זלמן. למרבה ההפתעה, ולמרות שאנו מוצאים אצלו דאגה לחסידיו ברובד האינטלקטואלי והמעשי כאחד, לא נמצאת בתורתו התייחסות ישירה לחינוךוהוראה. אף על פי כן, דומה שהאינטואיציות הדידקטיות והחינוכיות של רש"ז שזורות בעקיפין במשלים, ובמיוחד במשל הרב והתלמיד. השימושים הרבים של האדמו"ר הזקן במשל זה נושאים אופי של שיטה, וספר זה מבקש, בעזרת העיון בהם, לפתוח צוהר לשיטתו הרעיונית העשירה של רש"ז גם בתחום החינוך וההוראה.

ד"ר ולריה ליאורה חייבי היא בעלת תואר שלישי במחשבת ישראל, מרצה בקורסים לחינוך ומנחת עבודות מחקר במכללת שאנן - המכללה האקדמית הדתית לחינוך, חיפה, ובמכללת בית רבקה, כפר חב"ד.

Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liady—the Alter Rebbe—is the founder of Chabad Hasidism and the architect of its ideological and value-based path. In his writings, the Alter Rebbe proposed a fundamental conceptual framework that serves as the foundation for all Chabad thought, representing intellectual yearning, mystical knowledge, theurgy, and a perspective on religious practice.

This book aims to discuss the educational and didactic concepts of Rabbi Shneur Zalman. Surprisingly, despite his evident concern for his followers on both intellectual and practical levels, his teachings do not directly address education and instruction. Nonetheless, it appears that Rabbi Shneur Zalman's didactic and educational intuitions are indirectly woven into his parables, especially the parable of the teacher and the student. The frequent use of this parable by the Alter Rebbe bears the hallmarks of a method, and this book seeks, through examining these uses, to open a window into Rabbi Shneur Zalman's rich ideological system in the field of education and instruction.

Dr. Valeria Liora Chaiby holds a PhD in Jewish Thought, lectures in education courses, and supervises research projects at Shaanan College—the Religious Academic College of Education in Haifa, and at Beit Rivka College in Kfar Chabad.
