Seffer HaGabbai - Detailed Halakha concerning the Jewish community in Prayer and service
Authors
Rabbi David Avraham SchpektorSynopsis
The Gabbai is a practical halachic guide containing the laws essential for the gabbai and the community for the proper functioning of the synagogue.
The book also includes extensive guidance and halachic rulings for other synagogue functionaries, such as the shaliach tzibbur (prayer leader), ba’al koreh (Torah reader), those called up to the Torah, and the individual who lifts the Torah scroll.
The volume features a detailed index, enabling both the gabbai and the worshipper to quickly locate the relevant halachic ruling.
We have merited to include the bylaws of Yeshurun Synagogue, authored by Rabbi Moshe Avigdor Amiel, of blessed memory, former Chief Rabbi of Antwerp and Tel Aviv–Jaffa.
Each page of the book is divided into two sections: the main section provides immediate, practical answers for the gabbai, while the notes section presents in-depth halachic analysis of each topic.
