Our most asked questions about the Nach Journal
1. Is there going to be a Nach Yomi journal for the entire program?
Yes! The set is designed to cover the entire two-year Nach Yomi cycle, with dedicated journal volumes corresponding to all four major divisions of the curriculum (Nevi'im Rishonim, Nevi'im Acharonim, Tehillim, and the remaining books of Ketuviim). Additionally, a custom-designed slipcase/display box is planned for completion at the end of the full cycle so you can proudly display the entire completed set on your bookshelf—and enjoy plenty of nach nachas from your learning milestone.
2. I have done Nach Yomi before—what’s the point of using the journal?
Doing a second (third, or fourth!) cycle with a journal completely changes the experience from simply listening to the recording to actively retaining it and engaging with your own life journey. In short, it helps you take your Nach Yomi learning to the next level.
Beyond writing down key takeaways and insights, your journal serves as a personal "win tracker." It captures where and how you pushed through your goal. You can record milestones achieved on a train commute, in a waiting room, at the grocery store, or during a busy family vacation. It acts as a time capsule, preserving not only what you learned, but what was happening in your life and the world around you at that exact moment. Years from now, you’ll have a personalized, lasting commentary and a proud record of your dedication to look back on.
3. Why is my Vol II journal a slightly different color?
Each journal volume features a distinct color to differentiate the four main sections of the Nach Yomi cycle. Beyond looking like a beautiful set on your bookshelf, the hue changes also mark your progress through the learning cycle as you continue to move from one volume to the next.
4. What happens if I fall behind in my daily learning—can I still use the journal?
Absolutely. The journal entries are organized by book and chapter rather than fixed calendar dates, allowing you to learn at your own pace and catch up whenever convenient without wasting pages.
5. Is this a project exclusively of Jerry Press, or is this a joint partnership between Jerry Press and the Women's Initiative of the Orthodox Union?
This project is a joint partnership! Both Jerry Press and the amazing team at the Orthodox Union Womens’ Initiative actively collaborate on all content, curriculum alignment, and vision.
