Joanne Caras

Joanne Caras is the author of the 'Holocaust Survivor Cookbook' and its sequel, 'Miracles & Meals Volume 2 of the Holocaust Survivor Cookbook'. She compiled these books to collect and share the recipes and stories of Holocaust survivors from around the world. Each recipe in the books is accompanied by a powerful story of survival, making these cookbooks unique and inspirational. Joanne embarked on this project after visiting Carmei Ha’ir, an open restaurant in Jerusalem that feeds the poor. Inspired by the cause and the stories she heard, she decided to create these cookbooks to raise funds for the restaurant and to ensure that the stories of survival during the Holocaust are preserved.
