Shlomo Yitzchaki
Shlomo Yitzchaki, commonly known as Rashi, was a medieval French rabbi and author of a comprehensive commentary on the Talmud and commentary on the Tanakh. Born in Troyes, France, in 1040, Rashi studied in the yeshivot of Worms and Mainz, becoming a leading light in the history of Jewish scholarship. His commentaries on the Torah and Talmud have become fundamental to Jewish study, used by students and scholars alike for their deep insights and clarity in explaining complex texts.
