Noam Chomsky

Avram Noam Chomsky, born December 7, 1928, is an American linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist, historian, social critic, and political activist. Often called the father of modern linguistics, Chomsky's work has influenced multiple fields, including computer science and psychology. His revolutionary theory of syntax, known as the Chomsky hierarchy, has been pivotal in the development of theoretical linguistics.
