Shmuel Katz

Shmuel Katz was an Israeli writer, historian, and journalist who was born in South Africa in 1914 and moved to Palestine in 1936. He was a member of the Irgun, a Jewish underground organization in Palestine, and later served as a member of the first Knesset. Katz was a close associate of Menachem Begin and served as his advisor. He wrote extensively on Zionist history and Israeli politics, and his works include biographies of key Zionist figures and studies on the Arab-Israeli conflict. Katz was known for his articulate defense of the Revisionist Zionist perspective and his advocacy for the rights of Jews to settle in all parts of the Land of Israel. He passed away in 2008.
