Shlomo Aviner

Rabbi Shlomo Chaim Hacohen Aviner is a prominent Israeli rabbi and author known for his work in Jewish thought and religious Zionism. Born in 1943 in Lyon, France, he moved to Israel after converting to Judaism from secularism. Rabbi Aviner is a student of Rabbi Tzvi Yehuda Kook and has served as the head of the Ateret Cohanim Yeshiva in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. He is a prolific writer and a respected authority in the religious Zionist community, often addressing contemporary issues facing the Jewish people and the State of Israel.
