Alan S. Kaye

Alan S. Kaye (1944–2019) was a distinguished linguist and professor who contributed extensively to the fields of phonology, historical linguistics, and Semitic studies. He served as a professor at California State University, Fullerton, where he taught and mentored many students in linguistics. His research was widely published in numerous academic journals, and he was known for his detailed analyses and critical approach to linguistic theory. Kaye was also involved in various editorial roles, including serving as the editor for the journal of Afroasiatic Languages and contributing to many scholarly books and encyclopedias. His work has had a lasting impact on the study of language and linguistics, making significant contributions especially to the understanding of Semitic languages.
