Nachama Tec
Nachama Tec was born as Nachama Bawnik in Lublin, Poland in 1931. During World War II, she survived the Holocaust by living under a false identity in German-occupied Poland. After the war, she emigrated to Israel and then to the United States, where she pursued her academic career. Tec has extensively researched and written about the Holocaust, focusing on the survival strategies and resistance of Jews during the Nazi occupation. She is a professor emerita at the University of Connecticut and has been a visiting professor and a scholar at various prestigious institutions.
