René Goscinny
René Goscinny was a French comic editor and writer, who is best known for the creation of Asterix, which he made with the illustrator Albert Uderzo. Born in Paris in 1926, he spent most of his childhood in Argentina, but moved back to France in 1945 where he began his career in comics. Goscinny is also known for his work on the comic series 'Lucky Luke' with Morris (considered one of the greatest Belgian cartoonists) and 'Iznogoud' with Jean Tabary. His influence on the French comic industry was profound and lasting, making him one of the most important figures in European comics.
