Yerachmiel Michael Tilles
Yerachmiel Michael Tilles is one of the founders of Ascent-of-Safed, and currently serves as its Educational Director and the editor of Ascent Quarterly. His background includes educational degrees in mathematics, chemistry, and education, a brief career in scientific research, followed by two decades in educational consulting in the U.S. before making aliyah in 1978. Since then, he has been deeply involved in the Jewish renewal efforts in Israel, and particularly in Safed. Tilles is well-known for his storytelling, a traditional form of Jewish education, and has published several volumes of mystical stories and ethical teachings. His weekly email essays enjoy a wide circulation, and his live presentations are invariably well-received. He has been a guest speaker in numerous locations across the world, sharing his insights and knowledge of Jewish mysticism, history, and ethics. Tilles' contributions to Jewish education and culture are recognized both in Israel and internationally.
