Mindy Weisel

Mindy Weisel is an artist and author whose works explore emotional responses to life's experiences, from the joys of motherhood to the horrors of the Holocaust. Born in 1947 in Bergen-Belsen, Germany, in a displaced persons camp, she is one of the first children born to Holocaust survivors after World War II. Her family moved to the United States when she was a child, and she grew up in a household marked by her parents' wartime experiences.

Weisel graduated from George Washington University with a degree in Fine Arts. Her art, which includes paintings, glassworks, and writings, often deals with themes of trauma, healing, and the beauty found in everyday life. Her works have been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums, including the Smithsonian Institution and the National Museum of American Women in the Arts.

Aside from her artistic career, Mindy Weisel has authored several books that delve into her personal history and the broader human condition. Her writings often reflect her belief in the importance of expressing one's self through creativity and the transformative power of beauty in overcoming tragedy.
