Yisrael Ariel

Rabbi Yisrael Ariel is the founder of the Temple Institute (Machon HaMikdash), which is dedicated to preparing for the reconstruction of the Third Temple in Jerusalem. Born in 1939 in Jerusalem, he is a noted scholar and an authority on the subject of the Temple Mount and the various temple vessels as described in Jewish sources. Rabbi Ariel served as a paratrooper in the Israeli Defense Forces during the Six-Day War and was among the first soldiers to reach the Temple Mount in 1967. Following his military service, he pursued advanced religious studies and was ordained as a rabbi. His deep interest in the Temple led him to establish the Temple Institute in the early 1980s, which aims to educate the public about the Temple and its significance in Jewish life and culture. The Institute also engages in practical preparations for the future temple, including the creation of temple vessels and priestly garments according to ancient specifications. Rabbi Ariel has written extensively on topics related to the Temple and its rituals and is a prominent speaker on these subjects, both in Israel and internationally. His work has inspired a growing interest in the Temple Mount and its importance in Jewish tradition.
