Solomon Ibn Gabirol
Solomon Ibn Gabirol was a Jewish philosopher and poet who lived during the 11th century in Spain. Born in Malaga around 1021, he later moved to Saragossa, where he became an influential figure in the Jewish community. Ibn Gabirol's philosophical masterpiece is 'Fons Vitae' ('The Fountain of Life'), one of the first systematic presentations of Neoplatonism in Hebrew. This work, which was later translated into Latin and influenced Christian and Muslim thinkers, explores the nature of God and the universe, emphasizing the role of divine will and intellect.
