Rabbi Yaakov ibn Habib

Rabbi Yaakov ibn Habib was a prominent rabbinical scholar and the original compiler of the Ein Yaakov. Born in Spain in the late 15th century, he fled to Portugal and later to Salonika due to the expulsion of Jews from Spain in 1492.
