Lihi Ben Shitrit
Lihi Ben Shitrit is an Assistant Professor at the School of Public and International Affairs, University of Georgia. Her research interests include religion, gender, and politics in the Middle East. She focuses particularly on the role of religious women in conflict and peacebuilding processes.
Before joining the University of Georgia, Ben Shitrit taught at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. Her academic background and teaching experience have provided her with a deep understanding of the intersections between religion and politics in Middle Eastern societies.
Her book, 'Righteous Transgressions: Women's Activism on the Israeli and Palestinian Religious Right,' examines the roles of religious women in political movements in Israel and Palestine.
