Yosef Kafih
Rabbi Yosef Kafih, also known as Rabbi Yosef Kapach, was a prominent Yemenite rabbi, scholar, and translator born in 1917 in Sana'a, Yemen, and passed away in 2000 in Israel. He was a leading figure in the religious life of the Yemenite Jewish community and played a significant role in their immigration to Israel. Rabbi Kafih is renowned for his translations of major Jewish texts from Arabic into Hebrew, including the works of Maimonides and the 'Mishneh Torah'. His efforts were crucial in making these texts accessible to a broader Hebrew-reading audience, thereby preserving the rich heritage of Yemenite Jewish scholarship.
