Rabbi Yehuda Ashlag

Rabbi Yehuda Ashlag, also known as Baal HaSulam (1884-1954), was a noted Kabbalist born in Poland and later emigrated to Israel. He is best known for his comprehensive commentary on the Zohar, the primary text of Kabbalistic thought, and for his works that make Kabbalah accessible and understandable to all Jews. His philosophical writings attempt to bridge the ancient mystical traditions of Judaism with contemporary issues and spiritual quests.
