Chaim Elazar Spira
Chaim Elazar Spira (1868-1937) was a prominent Hasidic rabbi and the Rebbe of Munkatch (now Mukachevo, Ukraine). He was born in Sighet, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, into a distinguished rabbinical dynasty. Rabbi Spira was known for his strong leadership and his staunch stance on religious and communal matters, which made him a central figure in Eastern European Orthodox Judaism during his time. His works and decisions have had a lasting impact on the Hasidic world.
