Rabbi Avraham Yaffen
Rabbi Avraham Yaffen (1897-1970) was a prominent figure in the world of Orthodox Judaism and a leading authority in the Novardok Yeshiva movement, which emphasized mussar—a spiritual and ethical approach to Torah study. Born in Belarus, he became the head of the Novardok Yeshiva in Bialystok, Poland, and later re-established the yeshiva in Israel after surviving the Holocaust. His teachings and leadership greatly influenced the spread of the Novardok approach to Torah study and Jewish life.
