Shlomo Yitzchaki (Rashi)
Shlomo Yitzchaki, commonly known as Rashi, was a medieval French rabbi and author who lived from 1040 to 1105. He is considered one of the foremost commentators on the Torah and the Talmud. His works are included in every edition of the Talmud and have a profound influence on Jewish thought and study. Rashi's commentary on the Torah, in particular, is noted for its clarity and insight, making complex subjects accessible to a wider audience. His approach combines a close analysis of the text with a comprehensive view of Talmudic, Midrashic, and linguistic insights, which has made his commentary a fundamental study tool for Jewish biblical exegesis.
