Iddo Netanyahu
Iddo Netanyahu is an Israeli physician, author, and playwright. He was born in Jerusalem, the youngest of the three Netanyahu brothers. His oldest brother, Yonatan Netanyahu, was the commander of the elite Israeli army commando unit Sayeret Matkal and was killed in action during Operation Entebbe in 1976. Iddo has written several books and plays, focusing on historical and philosophical themes.
As a writer, Iddo Netanyahu has explored various facets of Israeli and Jewish history, including the events surrounding the Entebbe operation in which his brother played a pivotal role. His book 'Yoni's Last Battle: The Rescue at Entebbe, 1976' details the planning and execution of the famous hostage-rescue mission carried out by Israeli forces in Uganda. The book is a tribute to his brother and the other soldiers who participated in the mission.
Apart from his literary career, Iddo Netanyahu has pursued a professional career in medicine. He studied medicine after completing his military service in Israel and has worked as a radiologist. His diverse career and personal experiences have deeply influenced his writing, providing him with a unique perspective on the complexities of courage, leadership, and the human condition.
