Alex Singer

Alex Singer was an American-Israeli soldier who was known for his artistic talents and his reflective writings. Born in New York in 1962, Alex grew up in a family deeply connected to Jewish culture and values. He moved to Israel and joined the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), where he served with distinction.

During his service in the IDF, Alex kept extensive journals and sketches that depicted his daily life and experiences as a soldier. His writings and art provide a unique insight into the life of a young man facing the realities of conflict while grappling with his own personal and spiritual growth.

Tragically, Alex Singer was killed in action in Lebanon in 1987, at the age of 25. His family compiled his writings and drawings into the book 'ALEX Building a Life', which serves as a memorial to his life and legacy. The book has inspired many with its honest portrayal of a soldier's life and its poignant reflections on human existence.
