Azaria Alon

Azaria Alon was a renowned Israeli environmentalist and one of the founders of the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel (SPNI), which is the leading environmental NGO in Israel. Born in 1918 in Ukraine, Alon immigrated to Israel in the early 1920s where he later became a pivotal figure in the country's environmental movement.

Throughout his life, Alon was dedicated to preserving Israel's natural landscapes and biodiversity. He was instrumental in establishing many of Israel's national parks and nature reserves, educating the public about the importance of environmental protection.
