Chayyim Vital

Chayyim Vital was born in 1543 in Safed, Ottoman Empire, which is now present-day Israel. He was a prominent rabbi and disciple of Isaac Luria, one of the most influential figures in the development of the Kabbalistic school of thought. Vital is best known for his role in documenting and disseminating the teachings of Luria, which significantly shaped the course of Jewish mysticism.

Throughout his life, Chayyim Vital compiled numerous works on Kabbalah, the most famous being the 'Etz Chaim' or 'Tree of Life', which organizes and elaborates on Lurianic Kabbalah. His writings are considered foundational texts in the study of Kabbalistic philosophy and have been studied by scholars and mystics for centuries.

Vital's contributions to Jewish thought and mysticism have left a lasting legacy, making him a central figure in the history of Kabbalah.
