Israel Starck

Israel Starck is a Holocaust survivor whose experiences form the basis of the book 'A Boy Named 68818'. Born in Czechoslovakia, he was only a teenager when he and his family were swept up in the horrors of the Nazi regime. Throughout the Holocaust, he was imprisoned in several concentration camps, including Auschwitz, where he was tattooed with the number 68818, a dehumanizing act that stripped prisoners of their identities. After surviving the war, Israel Starck dedicated much of his life to educating others about the Holocaust, sharing his experiences to ensure that the atrocities of that time are neither forgotten nor repeated.
