Samuel J. Levine is a Professor of Law and Director of the Jewish Law Institute at Touro Law Center. He has a distinguished academic career with a focus on Jewish law, legal ethics, and criminal law. Levine has authored numerous articles and books that explore intersections between Jewish law and the American legal system, contributing significantly to both legal scholarship and Jewish studies.

Before joining Touro Law Center, Levine served as a professor at Pepperdine University School of Law and was a visiting professor at other prestigious institutions. His academic work often addresses themes of legal interpretation, ethics, and the comparative aspects of law and religion, making substantial contributions to the dialogue between religious legal traditions and secular law.

Levine's book, 'Was Yosef on the Spectrum?', explores the biblical figure Joseph through various lenses, including Torah, Midrash, and classical Jewish sources, suggesting that Joseph may have had traits consistent with autism spectrum disorder. This work is part of Levine’s broader efforts to integrate his expertise in law, ethics, and religious studies, providing a unique perspective on biblical narratives and their implications for modern society.
