Binyamin Lau

Rabbi Dr. Binyamin Lau is an Israeli rabbi, scholar, and social activist. Born in Tel Aviv in 1966, he pursued advanced religious and academic studies at the Har Etzion Yeshiva and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Rabbi Lau earned his PhD in Talmudic Law, and his dissertation focused on the legal rulings of Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Kalischer.

Throughout his career, Rabbi Lau has been deeply involved in bridging gaps between different sectors of Israeli society. He has served as a community rabbi in several neighborhoods and has been active in educational initiatives aimed at promoting understanding and cooperation among Israel’s diverse religious and secular communities.

In addition to his rabbinical duties, Rabbi Lau is a prolific author and public speaker. He has written extensively on Jewish law, ethics, and history, including a popular series of books on the Prophets of Israel, which blend traditional rabbinic insights with modern scholarship. His works are noted for their accessible style and depth of analysis.
