Rabbi Nahman, often referred to simply as Nahman of Breslov or Rebbe Nachman, is another name used for Rabbi Nachman of Breslov. He was a great-grandson of the Baal Shem Tov, the founder of Hasidic Judaism. Rabbi Nahman's teachings emphasize the importance of living with faith, simplicity, and joy, which he believed were the keys to spiritual enlightenment and a meaningful life.

His philosophical and mystical teachings are encapsulated in several major works, including Likutei Moharan, a collection of his lessons and ideas. He also stressed the importance of hitbodedut (personalized, secluded prayer) as a unique way for individuals to foster a direct, personal relationship with God.
