Meir Zlotowitz

Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz was an influential figure in Jewish publishing, best known for his role in founding ArtScroll Publications. Born in 1943, Rabbi Zlotowitz initially embarked on a career in commercial art, utilizing his skills to enhance the visual aspects of Jewish texts. His journey into publishing began with a modest project to create a translation and commentary for the Book of Esther, which blossomed into the establishment of ArtScroll, a prominent publisher of Jewish religious texts.

Under Rabbi Zlotowitz's leadership, ArtScroll developed a comprehensive catalog of Jewish books, including prayer books, Talmud, and Torah commentaries, which have become staples in Jewish homes and institutions worldwide.
