He received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Chicago, and has published extensively in the fields of solid state physics and the interface between science and religion. His works are particularly focused on reconciling traditional Jewish thought with contemporary scientific understanding, making complex scientific concepts accessible to the lay reader while maintaining rigorous accuracy.

In addition to his scientific publications, Aviezer has written on topics such as the age of the universe, evolution, and the anthropic principle, often challenging popular misconceptions about the compatibility of science and religious belief. He has been invited to speak at numerous conferences and institutions around the world, sharing his insights on the integration of faith and science. His work not only contributes to the academic fields in which he writes, but also serves as a valuable resource for individuals grappling with questions about the relationship between their scientific understanding and religious beliefs.
