Rabbi Shlomo Riskin
Rabbi Shlomo Riskin is the founding rabbi of the Efrat settlement in the West Bank, known also as the Chief Rabbi of Efrat. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and received his rabbinical ordination from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University. Rabbi Riskin is also the founder and Rosh Yeshiva of Ohr Torah Stone Institutions, a network of high schools, colleges, and graduate programs that combine intensive Jewish studies with social outreach and leadership development.
Throughout his career, Rabbi Riskin has been a prominent advocate for women's rights in religious contexts, pushing for more significant roles for women within Orthodox Judaism.
